J.W.Allstyles Scooter Club Blog Subscribe: Thu, 30 Nov 2006 Early Days to Present Day. During the late 80s "The North Manchester Orignals" use to meet on Wednesday nights @ the "Junction Pub".This didnt last for long and we had to find somewhere new.We didnt have to look far,as we moved 100 yards down to the "Minders Arms"During this time membership was around 20 and we use to take the pub over. During the 90s numbers fell to about 6.With this came a venue change to the "Gardeners".Another move came in the late 90s to the "Railway & Linnet" and a name change to "Sons of the Desert SC" Sadly the club stopped meeting for a period of 2/3 years,until a few of the orignal members started meeting at the "Minders Arms" on a sunday night.We then moved back to the "Railway & Linnet".It was here that we formed the club as its known today "J.W.Allstyles SC" The club has grown and until this year we were getting along with our own events and attending local & National events until one member felt the need to set another Scooter Club up on the same night & only 3 miles away. With this the remending members decided a fresh start was needed.We moved to the "Ship Inn" on Rochdale Road on Stakehill Roundabout Slattocks. Paul & Karina who run the pub make us very welcome on Sundays with plates of chips & somewhere to chat. Posted by Dave whats the problem hi glad you have got a site up and running, i have also visited other scooter sites and it takes a good group of scooterist to share their sites and links.....not to have any bad vibes between groups as on runs and rallys we are all there to share stories expertise and also have a laugh.... so what if someone has set up another group whats the problem with goin to one one week and the other the next i know when i used to go to them we used to alternate them and there wasnt any bad vibes between anyone so come on join in together and stop being childish we are all interested in one thing and thats scooters Posted by a There's no problem Hi nice to hear from you, we appreciate your comments and like to feel that all are made welcome at the club, as other clubs have experienced a warm welcome to ours in the past, only problem we had was why the cloak and dagger act, why not just say what was happening, why announce in the local paper 'formerly know as the JW Allstyles Scooter Club'anyway there is more to it than that but as you say were in it for the scootering, none of us think we are being childish (or backstabbing like some) we are doing what we have done for the past 15 years getting on with it and enjoying it. P.S We are also willing to accept negative comments, and you won't be blocked from using the sight again like some. Posted by lambbo New to the site Hi and welcome to JW Allstyles, don't worry about the story it's a long one and now in the past, people do seem to have had a problem due to this but we pride ourselves on being able to accept negative critisism and deal with it. We couldn't have survived for the past 15 years if we were such a problem. Mountains out of mole hills etc. You will be more than welcome and of course bring along the wife we are a good family club.
